— Which treatment

Start with the scalp,
not the calendar.

Not sure which ritual you need? Match what you're seeing in the mirror to a starting point — we confirm and fine-tune it during the in-chair consultation.

Oily roots & buildup

01

Hair looks greasy a day after washing, and you wash more often to keep up.

Start with

60-min Basic Cleanse

A proper sebum-and-product detox resets the oil cycle without stripping the scalp.

Flaking, itch & dandruff

02

White flakes on your shoulders, an itch that builds by afternoon, tight patches after washing.

Start with

75-min Anti-Dandruff

Adds anti-dandruff care and a calming mask on top of the foundation cleanse.

Thinning, shedding & postpartum

03

More hair in the drain, a part that's widening, regrowth that won't catch up after a baby.

Start with

90-min Anti-Aging & Hair Growth

LED red-light therapy and a growth serum support the follicle and scalp circulation.

Dry, tight & sensitive

04

Tightness or redness after washing; strong shampoos make it worse.

Start with

60 or 75-min, low-fragrance

We dial back actives and fragrance and lead with conditioning and a gentle massage.

A note on flakes: occasional dryness is cosmetic, but persistent greasy-yellow flaking with redness can be seborrheic dermatitis, a medical skin condition the American Academy of Dermatology describes in detail. Our anti-dandruff treatment in Mountain View targets comfort and buildup; for a diagnosis, see a dermatologist.

— Inside the chair

What a quiet hour
actually looks like.

  1. Min 0–10

    Consultation & scalp check

We look at your scalp under good light — oil, flaking, redness, density — and ask how you wash and what's bothering you. The ritual is mapped from there.

  2. Min 10–25

    Double cleanse & detox

A pre-cleanse breaks down sebum and product; a second cleanse clears it. This is the step a home shampoo can't replicate.

  3. Min 25–55

    Treatment, massage & mask

Targeted serum for your scalp type, a long pressure-point massage through scalp, neck and shoulders, then a nourishing mask. Most guests stop talking here.

  4. Final stretch

    Boosters, LED & blow-dry

The 90-minute ritual adds LED red-light therapy and a growth booster. Every tier finishes with a hand blow-dry — you leave ready, not damp.

— Common questions

Asked & answered.

What is a scalp treatment, and how is it different from a regular shampoo? +

A professional scalp treatment combines a deep scalp cleansing, a customized treatment for your scalp's needs (dryness, oiliness or sensitivity), a head and scalp massage, and a nourishing hair treatment plus mask. A regular shampoo cleans the hair surface; a scalp treatment works on the scalp itself — the foundation healthy hair grows from.

How is this different from a Japanese head spa? +

It's the same family of service. Our 75- and 90-minute rituals are what most people mean by a Japanese head spa — a long, methodical cleanse, scalp massage and mask. If that's what you're after, the Japanese head spa in Mountain View page breaks the full ritual down step by step.

How often should I come in? +

For general upkeep, once a month keeps buildup down and the scalp calm. For an active concern — heavy dandruff, oily roots, shedding — a short course of 3 to 10 sessions a week or two apart moves things much further than a one-off. We suggest a cadence at your consultation; there's no pressure to pre-buy a package.

Can a scalp treatment help with postpartum hair loss? +

Yes. Our 90-minute Anti-Aging and Hair Growth treatment is built for thinning and excessive shedding, including postpartum hair loss. It pairs a hair-loss serum with LED red infrared light therapy and a scalp-stimulating massage to support follicle health and regrowth. It supports the environment hair grows from rather than acting as a drug, so for medical hair loss we'd run it alongside a dermatologist's plan — the American Academy of Dermatology has a clear primer.

Does it hurt? My scalp is sensitive. +

No — it should feel like a long, firm massage. If your scalp is reactive or tender, tell us at the start and we lower the pressure, drop the fragrance and lead with conditioning instead of actives.

Do I need to wash my hair before my appointment? +

No. Come as you are — we double-cleanse at the start, so there's nothing to prep. Arriving with day-old hair is completely fine.

Can men book scalp treatments? +

Absolutely. Oily scalp, dandruff and early thinning are some of our most common bookings from men. The ritual is the same; we map it to your scalp at consultation.

A healthy scalp is the foundation of beautiful hair.
